About Kasha of Vivid Imagery
Written by Phatriff on Sun, 05/10/2008 - 10:16pm in News uk vivid imagery
Kasha is an English rapper from Charlton in London and part owner of Vivid Imagery Productions. His style of rap is warm, rich, emotional, raw and poetic and has often been described as punk. He tells stories of his surroundings, the problems in the world and his dreams. Unlike most hip hop the music has a strong sense of melody and is made up of an eclectic mix of street beats, jazz flows and cinematic hooks. With collaborations from live bands, musicians and singers there are absolutely no barriers to this kids art. From the words of Dynamite MC from Kiss100 “wow, the best lyricist the UK’s got”

This winter (2008) Kasha aims to release his first single entitled ‘You Have A Choice’ featuring the singer Iman. It’s a charity based track intended to reduce knife and gun crime on our streets by tackling the source of the problem. Kasha has already headlined this track at Arsenal Emirates Stadium with support from Chipmunk and Nathan, and now has several interviews and bookings lined up for it’s release. A video for this single is currently in production. Also scheduled for release this year is his debut album called ‘The Oracle’ is designed to have an underground feel to separate it self from the flood of American Hip Hop in the UK Charts. This is Kasha’s first album under the Vivid Imagery label and his 2nd album in 2009 will follow it up, which is currently in production.
Kasha also makes an appearance on the ‘People’s Army Mixtape’ which is due for release end of 2008. The mixtape will feature many rap artists from the UK’s ‘End of the Weak’ and ‘People’s Army’ movements. This is Kasha’s 3rd collaborative feature having appeared on US rapper Klarity’s album entitle ‘King’s Pawn’, and also German producer Beezwax’s album entitled ‘The Sting Operation’. This 20 track compilation, also released in several countries worldwide, was promoted with a 4 track demo spearheaded by Kasha. The compilation also featured Klashnekoff, Genesis Elijah, S.A.S, Supar Nova and the Extremists. Kasha has also completed projects with David J (Human Traffic) and Frank Harper (Lock Stock).
“The MCs are the usual roll call of London underground” “though newcomer Kasha excels”
Touch Magazine Review of the Beezwax Album
Another notable success for Kasha and the Label was the signing of a sponsorship deal in 2007 with an American trainer company called Kashi Kicks who approached Kasha not only because of the obvious similarities in the name but because they thought he represented quality original UK music and was a good image for the company.
With tracks selling around the globe, airplay on Kiss, Choice, Xfm, 1xtra and Galaxy, Kasha’s unique and diverse approach to rap
is cutting through the market so step aside.
“Picture a beautiful life it’s on me, a little bliss for your mind, a little soul peace”
