NEWSFLASH: All profits from this special event in partnership with Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) will be donated to funds for the Haiti Earthquake.
Lyrix Organix has been working closely with MSF over the last year to use positive & conscious music to raise money for their emergency medical aid work in countries like Congo and Southern Sudan.
YOUR MONEY REALLY WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. PLEASE SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!
We have all been deeply shocked by the devastation caused by the tragic earthquake in Haiti that has cost up to 200,000 lives and rising. Urgent emergency medical aid - spearheaded by MSF - is required to treat life-threatening injuries and the major threat of disease outbreaks. Haiti was already one of MSF's major activities prior to the earthquake - three of its hospitals and clinics in Port-au-Prince were damaged in the quake. MSF teams are stretched to the limit - working around the clock, while also trying to create more capacity by finding new premises, transporting in mobile structures and getting more medical supplies.
MSF has set up tented clinics, and 70 more MSF staff are due to arrive with a 100-bed hospital, complete with an inflatable surgical unit and nephrologists to deal with crush injuries. An estimated 3,000 people have had primary care and around 400 have received surgery in Port-au-Prince. At the same time, MSF has been travelling to areas outside of the city and is about to extend the medical care to the people there. Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is a medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid in over 60 countries, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
