JAI joins Vivid Imagery Records

I am proud to welcome JAI into the vivid imagery family

JAI of Vivid Imagery

JAI (Pronounced J) aka Just an Identity is regarded as one of the most inspirational female rappers in the UK. She has been involved in music for 10 years and has worked with many of the uk underground's names such as Sin Army and Life changing movements.

Hailing from South West London she doesn't see her Islamic background as hindrance on her art in the western world but more of a catalyst on breaking down barriers and improving unity in the world. At around the age of 16 JAI became heavily involved in various protests movements towards human rights and peace in Middle Eastern countries.

Raised on a Recipe of Reggae, Roots, Soul & North African vibes and inspired by acts such as Ghost Face, The Fugees, Killah Priest and Jean Grae she brings a much needed diversity to rap. She has a passionate hunger and determination to excel her expectations of a female in such a male dominated industry. JAI insists and separates her self from the bikini clad, sex talking female rappers and adopts a more artistic view discussing life issues which appeals to various demographics.

Now at the age of 21 She is working closely within her Islamic community, attending events, speaking and reading poetry to those who avoid music and hopes to organise a monthly event alongside her sisters Poetic Pilgrimage and Marrifah (She nicknames The Tuggy Muslimahs that will welcome everyone who thrives on the core essence of Hip Hop. She regards vivid imagery as the perfect place to be right now.
